Banbury based covering Cherwell
£36,686 – £38,616 per year
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
We are seeking a proactive and organised Chargehand to join our dynamic response repairs team in the Midlands region, covering Cherwell. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Service Delivery Manager in the day-to-day running of our responsive team, helping to manage engineers, plumbers, carpenters, and electricians, ensuring targets are met and work is delivered to the highest standard. You will help oversee the smooth running of operations, providing guidance and support to the team while ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
The role of Multi-Trade Chargehand will include:
- Assisting the Service Delivery Manager with daily tasks and operational planning
- Ensuring all team members meet their targets and deadlines
- Providing on-the-ground support to tradespeople, troubleshooting and offering guidance as needed
- Maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed
- Assisting in scheduling, resource allocation, and overall service delivery management
- Acting as a point of contact between the team and the Service Delivery Manager
- Conducting regular checks to ensure the quality and compliance of all work performed
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as reporting, record-keeping, and communication
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (plumbing, carpentry, electrical) NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing if plumbing is core or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application.
- Significant social housing experience
- Good communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
- Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
