Anderson Knight has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to support various high profile contracts throughout Scotland. Our client is an award winning business who are based in Glasgow with a reach across the UK.

This role is to provide support across all business streams concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of various contracts and projects. Offering support to the business streams you will provide advice to allow projects to be delivered on time and to budget. You will liaise with clients and external parties on commercial issues such as contract agreement of variations, claims and payments. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director. You will Provide Commercial expertise within designated projects to maximise returns, Produce accurate monthly cost and value forecasting of all projects and manage change control.

About the Role

• Contract and sub-contract management and administration as required

• Certification of payment applications from subcontractors

• Compilation of costs for compensation events and the management of change

• Management of Change Control including Early Warnings and Compensation Events

• Assist to avoid disputes with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

• Production of CVRs and analysis of same

• Prepare and process formal documentation for sub-contractor payments

• Preparing valuations for payment applications to the client

• Assisting in the compilation of commercial / contractual responses to the client and subcontractors

• Monitor and report on expenditure on contracts compared to budgets and forecasts

• Give feedback to the relevant parties with regards to contract pricing and profit and loss

• Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with clients and sub-contractors as required

• Produce relevant monthly reports

• Monitor all costs relating to a project from tender to final account stage

• Keep track and report on any variances that may impact cost and completion dates

• Perform risk, value management and cost control activities

• Updating project risk registers

• Keep up to date with changes to industry legislation

• Assisting the estimators with the preparation & presentation of tender submissions.

About the Candidate

• Professional qualification within Quanity Surveying/ accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent experience

• Highly Competent in MS Excel and Word

• Able to interpret and understand contract documents, scopes of works and contract drawings

• Experience within the Construction and/or Engineering industry

• Detailed working knowledge of NEC3 Conditions of Contract
