Legal Counsel

A popular hospitality and retail company is seeking to recruit a talented Legal Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional to join a dynamic organisation during an exciting phase of growth.

The Role:

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will take on a broad and engaging portfolio of responsibilities, including:

• Commercial Contracts: Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting diverse commercial agreements, including high-value contracts such as brand endorsement deals.
• Ecommerce & Digital: Providing legal support on all matters relating to ecommerce and the company’s website.
• Advertising & Marketing Compliance: Advising on advertising and marketing standards, including compliance for prize promotions, competitions, and social media campaigns.
• Data Protection Compliance: Managing data protection compliance, delivering staff training, handling data subject access requests, supporting the Digital Team, and negotiating data processing agreements.
• Product Support: Advising the Product Team on laws and regulations, as well as negotiating and drafting licensing agreements.
• Legal Operations: Leading transformation projects to enhance efficiency through technology, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
• Intellectual Property: Providing legal advice on intellectual property matters.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Experience: At least 2 years PQE, gained in a reputable commercial law firm and/or in-house role in the UK.
• Expertise: A strong foundation in commercial law, with knowledge of contract law, intellectual property, and data protection.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong negotiation abilities, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
