Job Description:
Change Accountancy and Finance are working with a fast-growing Edinburgh business for the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner to join their team. This is a newly created opportunity to support with the increased workload. This is an opportunity suitable for a commercially focused accountant with a couple of years post qualified experience. The role has a blend of production of accounts as well as business partnering.
Please note: due to the business partnering nature of the role occasional travel around the UK is required.
Partnering with he site managers, responsibilities include:
- Partner closely with various business units to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and deliver reports on business performance to key stakeholders.
- Prepare, manage, and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic and operational planning.
- Leverage management accounting skills to track and report on cost centres, overheads, and profitability.
- Conduct monthly management accounts preparation, including variance analysis, accruals, and prepayments.
- Provide recommendations to optimise financial performance, focusing on cost control, revenue growth, and process efficiencies.
- Act as a financial advisor to non-financial teams, explaining complex financial concepts in a clear and supportive way.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct variance analysis to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Lead financial planning cycles, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly reporting.
- Conduct scenario analysis and financial risk assessments to support long-term business strategy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within finance and operational teams, driving efficiency.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements for the role:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a couple of years post qualified experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrable experience in management accounting alongside financial analysis or business partnering roles.
- Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software, data analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
- A proactive approach, with a passion for driving business performance through financial insight.
Salary banding offered up to £65'000 per annum, DOE plus benefits. Hybrid working week (3 days a week in the office).
