UHI Orkney Finance Manager
35 hours per weekTemporary up to 16 December 2026£48,602 – £51,412 / £26.63 – £28.17 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
We are seeking a suitable candidate to lead and manage the finance function of the College. This is a senior position, and the successful applicant will be a valuable member of the College’s Senior Management Team. The role ensures that the varied finance needs of a small, but thriving and highly successful, College within the UHI partnership are met.
The role will be responsible for the day to day running of the Finance function in the College, leading a small team of staff and reporting finances to, and working with, both Orkney Islands Council and University of the Highlands and Islands.
The successful applicant will be a Qualified Accountant and hold full professional registration with ACCA, CIPFA or other CCAB body. You should also have a track record of successfully managing staff and have significant experience of complex budget management and monitoring. Previous experience of working in an educational and/or public sector environment would be desirable but is not essential.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
