We Are Futures is a brand and social impact agency, delivering authentic brand and social impact programmes that change outcomes for young people and our clients. We better connect clients to young people by delivering on-the-ground impact through ambitious ideas, unique insight into their lives and strong partnerships.

Our newly created Marketing & Communications department consists of a passionate group of experts with specialist experience across all things marketing, product, data, digital and communications. We utilise a deep understanding of target audiences to deliver fully-integrated and creative multi-channel campaigns to build advocacy for brands amongst young people, with a core focus on reaching young people directly and via teachers, parents and the wider community. In addition to developing campaign strategies, our team are also responsible for campaign execution, delivering activity to land our client programmes, from implementation and optimisation to reporting and evaluation.

The opportunity

We seek a passionate, driven and strategic Marketing Manager to manage exceptional marketing campaigns and ensure our client programmes create genuine brand and social impact by reaching, engaging and converting key audiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing multi-channel, integrated marketing and communications strategies utilising a deep understanding of key audiences (young people, teachers, parents, youth workers, employees and wider consumers). From upfront strategy and planning to optimal channel mixes and creative ideation against channel selection, you will help drive the success of our marketing initiatives for clients. You will have a passion for storytelling and an understanding of the importance of creative with knowledge of key channel formats and best practices. You will also have experience delivering activity from end-to-end including working with creatives to develop marketing content for key channels, activity execution, optimisation, reporting and evaluation. You will share learnings from live campaigns and your experience to support managing a team of digital experts who are primarily focussed on campaign execution.

In this role, you will additionally support the Marketing & Communications Lead in establishing key processes and ways of working and building team visibility within the business. You will also input in new business opportunities and pitches, supporting the team to win client work and promote the full range of services offered by the department.

Your role

This role demands a solid grounding in marketing and campaigns and is perfect for an experienced marketeer looking for a role with impact. Your role will include:

Strategic development

Assist in developing comprehensive marketing strategies aligned to client and programme objectives.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities and potential threats that will impact strategic development.

Work with the wider team to clearly define audiences including pain points, customer journey and key attributes.

Develop the optimal key messaging to reach, engage and convert key audiences.

Define the appropriate channels strategy, with considerations towards content formats and placements.

Establish KPIs and help define how to measure campaign success.

Present strategies to clients and be the expert in the room in client meetings where required.

Manage and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns:

Working with the wider team, manage the development of the strategy through to execution, including developing detailed comms plans and asset lists, working with creative to develop marketing content, and ensuring activity goes live on time and within budget.

Ensure campaign activity is regularly reviewed and optimised where required.

Collaborate with the Data & Performance team to ensure regular and accurate client reporting and campaign wash-ups.

Line management and mentorship

Line manage up to two digital marketing executives and provide mentorship to the wider team, offering guidance, support, and training to ensure the team achieves its goals and maintains high standards of performance.

Nurture the team’s curiosity, encouraging a culture of innovation and staying updated with the latest news and trends within the marketing and communications industry.

Leverage internal channels and opportunities to support the wider upskilling of the agency across all marketing and communications elements.

Requirements

Essential

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, either client or agency side

Demonstrable success in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies that have achieved measurable results.

Knowledge of key marketing channels and tools, including websites and SEO, all core social media channels, email marketing, influencer marketing, partnerships, networks, and analytics platforms.

Comprehensive knowledge of segmentation, channel formats, targeting, and retargeting.

Extensive experience in delivering email marketing (preferably Dot Digital or similar) with expertise in using dynamic fields and personalisation.

Extensive experience in paid social, with hands-on experience of Meta (essential), TikTok, Twitter and Google Ads.

Experience managing and mentoring teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans and initiatives.

Experience collaborating across departments, including New Business, Client Services, Strategy, and Creative teams to align marketing efforts with overall client goals.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and metrics, derive insights, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly for continuous improvement.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and influencers.
