Education Learning Support AssistantLocation:HoveSalary:£11.44ph (£23,048Full Time)Hours: Monday-Friday 38.75 hours per week Term Time Only- Monday- Friday 8.30am-4.15pm with occasional 5pm finishes for whole school meetings. Seeking a number of Support Assistants to work in their school on a full time basis. A fantastic Children's home with school attached they work therapeutically with children who have complex needs, have experience abusive, neglectful and /or chaotic and traumatic situations and require specialist support in learning how to cope with the pressures and demands of everyday living.Benefits:

The Role: A Therapeutic Support Assistant is a member both Therapeutic Support Team of the provision and home and of the frontline care and support team of the wider organisation of the setting. They work collaboratively with and under the instruction and guidance of special needs class teachers (in the classroom setting) and the therapeutic support team manager (in the wider setting of the school and workplace). Therapeutic Support Assistants create and maintain the conditions necessary for learning to take place. They grow their understanding of each childs individual emotional and social and learning difficulties and needs, and those of the class group as a whole. They use this understanding to adapt the learning environment and the way and pace that learning is delivered, to address barriers to and promote engagement in learning and teaching, and so that each child and the class group as a whole gain maximum benefit from their teachers delivery of the curriculum.Desired Criteria:
- A minimum of 1 year proven experience gained in the field of residential child care or social care.
- A reasonable understanding and awareness of current child care legislation.
- Understanding of cost awareness and efficiency.
- Full driving licence.
- Relevant qualification in, or working knowledge of, child care & education provision.
- Self-aware, confident, motivated, sense of humour, creativity, conscientious work-ethic.
- Full clean driving licence
