Multi-skilled Building Maintenance Engineer

HCA UK Canary Wharf, 40 Bank StreetFull time 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Permanent

Salary: £35,000 – £39,000 per annum + excellent benefits

We’re looking for a Multi-skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at our new opening in Canary Wharf. This role is vital in ensuring a first class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.

What you’ll do:

  1. Maintaining, servicing and testing various electrical and mechanical plants such as AHUs, Air Conditioning Systems, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm Systems and Generators.
  2. Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times and adhering to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
  3. Being the main point of contact for all engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
  4. Carrying out PPM’s and daily checks of plant area, ensuring the area is well maintained, operational and tidy at all times.
  5. Working on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
  6. Carrying out water management control measures as required by the Water Risk Assessment i.e. flushing and temperature monitoring. Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  7. Responding to, and completing incoming works logged on the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, ‘Engineering Central’. Prioritising your workload, responding quickly to emergency maintenance and reactive maintenance as requested.
  8. Liaising with the Landlord Management team and coordinating any works affecting HCA demise, attending any update meetings as required.
  9. On-site contractor management, reviewing RAMs and raising permits to work.
  10. Assisting in projects as required.

What you’ll bring:

  1. Qualified in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ in electrical, plumbing, carpentry or an engineering building services qualification.
  2. Good understanding of BMS Systems.
  3. Knowledge of Water Hygiene and Legionella Management.
  4. Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation.
  5. Health and Safety, COSHH knowledge.
  6. General knowledge of Fire regulations.
  7. Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  8. Must have a flexible approach to work.
  9. Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
