Job Description:

Our client works in the water sector and have projects across several water frameworks across the UK. They are working with Northumbrian Water, Thames Water, Affinity Water, United Utilities, Severn Trent Water, South West Water and Southern Water and as such have have fantastic opportunities for Commissioning Engineers on a freelance basis to join their growing team for AMP7 /8 work across the projects in North East area. These roles will play a vital part in the overall success of their business, and you will be joining a growing team with a strong reputation in the UK water industry.

Key Responsibilities of Commissioning Engineer Role:

– Assisting in the development of the commissioning procedures for the systems in their area

– Assisting the Lead Commissioning Engineer with delivering the commissioning process in their area through to handover

– Provide hands on training to the client’s operations and maintenance staff

– Commissioning of the onsite areas of the project for which they have been nominated

– Supervise and inspect sub-contractor installations and audit their performance

– Witnessing of pre-commissioning tests carried out during the procurement and construction phases

– Development of commissioning procedures in conjunction with Commissioning Processes personnel

– Oversee and assist in the delivery of MEICA solutions and systems integration

– Configuration of analytical equipment to process requirements, i.e. calibration, interfacing with monitoring equipment etc

– Manage and update the / M&E Project Progress Reports, Design Deliverables Schedule and Project Programmes

– Prepare commissioning plans for approval

– Ensure equipment is FAT tested and snag free prior to arrival on site

– Review electrical and/or mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, FDS documents, P&I documents.

Requirements for Commissioning Engineer:

– 5 years’ experience preferably in a water utility commissioning role

– HND or Degree qualified

– Knowledge of the commissioning process

– Proven skills on commissioning projects through to handover

– Good communicator

– Knowledge of Standards, Safety Rules and Statutory Legislation required on the projects

– CSCS or ECS card

– Must hold a valid Water Hygiene card…
