We are seeking an accomplished Insolvency Lawyer to join a dynamic and highly respected Commercial Disputes team at a well-established law firm. Known globally for delivering practical, high-quality legal guidance, our client supports financial institutions, investors, businesses, and individuals across a range of sectors, with expertise spanning corporate, financial, and commercial law.
About the Role:
Due to strategic growth and strong client demand, an experienced Insolvency Lawyer is needed to focus on insolvency (80%), you will be a crucial advisor to clients on financial restructuring, debt refinancing, bankruptcy procedures, and navigating compliance challenges. You will also handle some commercial disputes (20%) and be actively involved in negotiating settlements with creditors, liaising with liquidators and administrators, and overseeing insolvency-related litigation. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on insolvency-related matters, advising clients on restructuring, debt refinancing, and compliance management, with minimal supervision.
- Guide clients through complex bankruptcy processes, offering expert legal counsel on the intricacies of insolvency and financial restructuring.
- Handle a limited caseload of commercial disputes, contributing to the broader work of the team.
- Actively engage in business development to strengthen relationships with insolvency practitioners and partners across the UK.
- Stay informed on the latest in insolvency law and case developments, maintaining top-level advice for client matters.
You’ll Need:
- Significant experience handling contentious insolvency matters, ideally representing IPs, creditors, and business owners.
- In-depth knowledge of insolvency legislation, financial restructuring, and recent case law.
- Proficiency in negotiating settlements and working directly with liquidators and administrators.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
