Our Client is one of the UK’s leading Independent Distributors of Construction Materials led by a dynamic Senior Management Team and are undertaking a period of expansion due to success.

As a result of their exciting growth plans, our Client is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager located in London, specializing in the Construction Material Distribution Sector and driven by success.

Our Client is willing to offer a highly attractive salary package comprising an extremely attractive basic salary coupled with an exceptional individual rewards package to ensure high achievers are suitably rewarded.

You will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key customers, as well as identifying and closing new sales opportunities with a broad customer base including Construction Companies, Developers, Housebuilders, Fit Out Companies, Cladding Companies, and Roofing Companies.

The Role:

Selling building materials and associated products to contractors operating in domestic and commercial construction projects at all stages of the build cycle – ground works, floor, fabric, envelope, roofing, retrofit.

Maximizing opportunities from an existing ledger alongside business creation with new customers to achieve monthly sales and margin targets.

Working closely with the Branch Manager and internal sales team to obtain and convert enquiries into orders.

Exceeding customer expectations to become the supplier of choice.

Must Have Attributes:

  • Hunger and determination to increase revenue streams from existing customers and source new customer business.
  • Commercially astute with a demonstrable record of managing margins.
  • Effective sales knowledge of at least one of the following product sectors: insulation or drylining systems.
  • Effective sales knowledge of at least one of the following contractor sectors: drylining, ground workers, roofing, cladding, main contractor.
  • Experience of being accountable for a minimum annual sales budget of £2m p.a.
  • Exemplary work ethic and team player.
  • Striving for excellence in all sales and customer-related matters.
  • Self-management to effectively operate in an external sales role with diverse and widespread customers.

Location: London

Salary: Negotiable DOE + Bonus + Commission, company car, laptop, pension, mobile phone, 21 days holiday.
