Unknown Resourcing are hiring a Project Engineer – Marine for our leading R&D Engineering client in Essex. The Project Engineer – Marine opportunity is an exciting permanent position to contribute to the advancement of future Marine Hydrogen technology. The successful candidate for this Project Engineer – Marine position will be responsible for Mechanical Design and Project Engineering of future transportation Hydrogen development projects. You will ideally have experience in the following Hydrogen / H2, Sustainable, Renewable Energy or Decarbonisation experience would be advantageous.
Project Engineer – Marine, responsibilities:
Provide support to projects as required, including BOM control and management of subcontract design and analysis activity
Assist in the design and analysis of systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance optimisation.
Provide solutions for in-field failures and issues on company products and projects.
Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges and product issues/failures observed during operation, and propose innovative solutions.
Under the supervision of the Principal Engineer, support with introduction of the solution into the products/projects.
Work closely and consult with cross-functional teams, including design, electrical, procurement, the workshop, and external partners, to achieve project objectives.
Participate in testing protocols, data collection, and validation efforts to ensure the reliability and safety of the dual fuel systems.
Contribute to quality assurance processes and ensure that projects meet regulatory and industry standards.
Provide reports on work carried out, and maintain data pertaining to design, development and calibration work in line with business requirements
Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety and Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas.
Project Engineer – Marine, requirements:
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering
Strong interest & passion in decarbonisation and robust technologies that are used for harsh environments (high TRL technologies)
“Keep It Simple” and “thinking out of the box” mentality.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal, written communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with engineering software tools (Matlab/Simulink) and CAD design (e.g. CATIA/Solidworks) is a plus.
Knowledge of hydrogen safety protocols and regulations is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Flexible to a fast-changing industry, bringing up fresh ideas into the development teams to cope with challenges.
