Engineering Project Manager, Christchurch, £50,000pa

Purpose

As the Engineering Project Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the introduction of new products and processes to the manufacturing function. As part of the NPI team managing the full composite production process, you’ll work closely with colleagues from Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and others to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within cost and quality constraints.

Responsibilities

As the Engineering Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead New Product Introduction process, integrating composite materials into aerospace systems.
  • Manage communication across all project stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the efficient establishment, running and delivery of projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining necessary project documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), milestones and reports.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of NPI projects ensuring work is carried out in line with relevant standards such as AS9100, ISO14001, ISO45001 and internal company processes.
  • Ensure all documentation including SOPs, BOMs, control plans and reports are kept up to date and communicated across departments.
  • Oversee the validation of first production runs to ensure customer requirements and project objectives are met.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, keeping up to date with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Background

The successful Engineering Project Manager will:

  • Be familiar with composite manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace, motorsport or special applications sectors.
  • Have demonstrable experience overseeing multiple concurrent manufacturing projects.
  • Be able to demonstrate achievements in improving processes and quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work alongside a range of disciplines and promote a positive team environment.
  • Be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities.
  • Be IT literate, and familiar with ERP systems and software.
