Due to a period of rapid expansion, an exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Criminal Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years qualification.
Joining the practice’s nationally recognised team, the successful candidate will work closely with the senior members of the department and run a busy case load of criminal and professional discipline matters, predominantly on behalf of serving police officers.
Responsibilities
- Working on a varied case load.
- File management
- Preparing client letters
- Drafting statements
- Instructing counsel and experts
- Liaising with clients and Police Federation branches in person and over the telephone
- Attending hearings with counsel
- Local advocacy
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
The Candidate
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and is able to explain complex matters in clear, accessible language
- Works well as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
- Is highly organised, able to work well when under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Is personable, professional and client-focused
- Recognises the needs of private paying clients
Applications are especially welcomed from Solicitors with Professional Discipline experience. This is desirable but not essential.
The firm is very open on experience and PQE levels, however it is essential that the successful Criminal Solicitor is police station accredited and has access to a car, as there will be a need for regular travel.
