Job Title: Legal Counsel – Shipping & Trading

Location: London, 3 days a week

A global shipping and trading business are offering the opportunity for a Shipping/Trading Lawyer to join their in-house legal team. You will be responsible for providing legal advice on core business areas including marine energy supply, cargo purchasing and trading, vessel ownership, and chartering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal matters related to vessel ownership, chartering agreements, and fleet management.
• Provide legal support on cargo trading, supply contracts, and commercial disputes.
• Negotiate and draft contracts related to shipping and marine energy supply transactions.
• Ensure compliance with maritime law and international trade regulations.
• Liaise with external counsel and manage relationships with regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor with 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in shipping law, maritime law, or international trade.
• Experience with vessel ownership, chartering agreements, and cargo trading is essential.
• Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
• Knowledge of marine energy supply and maritime regulations will be advantageous.
