Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking a full range of quality management processes for the Pathology Department in accordance with Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Quality Standards, United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) requirements, and relevant regulatory guidelines. They will ensure appropriate day-to-day management of quality control systems, including the Q-Pulse Quality Management application and temperature monitoring systems, to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency in pathology services. The role will include providing support and guidance to pathology staff on quality-related matters, ensuring a robust quality service is delivered at all times and that Trust Policies and Procedures are adhered to. The post holder will assist in preparing for and maintaining accreditation, conduct audits, generate performance reports, and support equipment calibration processes. They will work closely with the Pathology Quality Manager to continuously improve quality management processes and maintain compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

The post holder will work at an advanced level in the Pathology Department, collaborating with pathology staff and quality management teams. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to all staff within the specialty, assisting clinical teams in maintaining efficient and accurate pathology services. This will include managing the Q-Pulse application, overseeing temperature monitoring systems, and assisting with equipment calibration and accreditation processes.
The post holder will also undertake the role of quality coordinator, liaising with different pathology disciplines and discussing quality-related matters. There will be a requirement to provide basic training to staff on quality management systems and procedures as appropriate to the job role.
Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week (to be spread Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00)
